MLS Is on the Upswing
The League Seems Desperate
I Can't Wait for the Season I Can't Be Bothered
Hell I can't wait for the preseason! — Jacob Kinskey
So excited! — Nihal
MLS moving up! — Ginger
It fills my weekends. Can't wait. — Jeff Thompson
From the MLS perspective, this offseason is an absolute coup. USMNT contenders return, sign a major name with international cache in Defoe, and they sign a new TV deal. Hard to say that Garber didn't get everything he wanted to accomplish done in the last few weeks. — Brad Miller
Ditto above comment — David Rusk
Well, losing 100 million isn't good...but its all about investment. — Kenneth
Ugh THE mls....its great. — Chiz
This is good for the league — Kenneth
Great things happening for the league. Slightly worried about expanding too fast for 2015, and in the wrong markets (NYC 2 and Miami) but the player signings have been great. — Dan
Nice moves if the league wants to continue its growth profile — ILoveMyBGE
The Bradley and Dempsey deals signify more than anything it's going to be tough for Americans to get what we believe to be a fare shake over in Europe. The only solution is to continue to grow our own league. — Pablo
The league is moving in the right direction. — Bg
What's not to love?! This is going to be a fascinating season leading up to the world cup. — Kyle S
Good moves for the league, not sure about how good they were for the players involved. Very excited for the season to start! — James
The MLS is getting better, and if the US team goes somewhat deep in the World Cup it will help out the prestige of the league. Defoe and Bradley on Toronto is great, and I'm actually looking forward to seeing a game or two. But it still has a way to go before it can compete with any og the top 5 leagues. — Tommy
Definitely headed in the right direction. Still not compelling enough for me to watch on a regular basis (might watch a game if its on, etc). I could see that changing in the not-so-distant future though... — Zack
Gotta spend the $ to make the $ — Beto
Getting better but still a long way to go to get to "can't wait" status. — Brian
While the signings have been good, would have preferred if Jones had gone to TFC and Bradley stayed in Europe. The Parkhurst & Edu returns were to be expected after their inability to get into games in Europe. — Dave
woo hoo — mike
Can notice the leagues improvement each year — Jackson
Really excited about the $ being spent on quality players. They can't just spend at the top, they'll need to raise the salary cap in order to make the quality better. — Boob
There likely isn't a league in the world with as a great a chasm in starters' salaries in MLS, and that needs to change, but there is no question MLS is a league on the rise and this off-season helped make that case. — Brooke Tunstall
The new players are great, but I'm concerned MLS may be loosening the purse strings too much at the top end. Would rather some of that money go to the mid-tier and lower-tier players to improve quality there. — Stephen
Bam. — Goodman Browne
MLS will have to do a lot more than add a few marquee names. — Marc
Slow, but recognizable growth. All while being ignored by the national sports media. Love going to live matches and supporting local talent. — Charlie Fiction
The additions of star USMNT players as well as Defoe are really going to help improve the overall product. However the league still needs to grow and get deeper with the 12-18 players on the rosters that aren't stars. — Chris
Big things ahead — Mark
It seems like a sea change this offseason, let's see if it cause more than a ripple in the quality of play in the MLS — John
Gonna be an exciting year — Caleb
Pumped for March 8. — JB
Pretty excited for the next season and it looks like the league is going places. However, it seems like they are starting to overpay for players, mainly Bradley and Defoe, to get them into the league. — Dave
NA — Bryson
You gotta spend money to make money and the incoming talent makes the league more exciting. But that $100 million number makes you a little nervous. Hope it all pays off. — Pat MacDonald
Eh, easy to entire American players back home. More impressed by Defoe than anything else. Still, big name signings for the World Cup year — Emulls
Solve the DP issue now! Mandatory Academies for all MLS Clubs! — Eric73
