TAB RAMOS announced a 21-player U-20 roster on Friday—a squad that will play at next week’s NTC Invitational tournament in Carson, Calif. While the team is missing many top U.S. players from this age group, it also includes several key standouts, including Mukwelle Akale, Tommy Redding, and Sebastian Saucedo.

The four-team mini-tournament will be played in round robin style with the U.S. taking on Costa Rica on June 29, Panama on July 1, and Japan on July 3. All games will be streamed on U.S. Soccer's website.

Here's the full roster:

GOALKEEPERS

Jonathan Klinsmann (University of California; Newport Beach, Calif.), JT Marcinkowski (Georgetown; Alamo, Calif.)

DEFENDERS

Hugo Arellano (LA Galaxy; Norwalk, Calif.), Marcello Borges (Michigan; Kearny, N.J.), Marlon Fossey (Fulham FC; Surbiton, Great Britain), Aaron Herrera (New Mexico; Casa Grande, Ariz.), Andrew Lombard (Northeastern; Montclair, N.J.), Tommy Redding (Orlando City SC; Oviedo, Fla.), Miles Robinson (Syracuse; Arlington, Mass.), Auston Trusty (Bethlehem Steel; Media, Pa.)

MIDFIELDERS

Mukwelle Akale (Villarreal CF; Minneapolis, Minn.), Luca De La Torre (Fulham FC; San Diego, Calif.), Weston McKinnie (FC Dallas; Little Elm, Texas), Eryk Williamson (Maryland; Alexandria, Va.), Jackson Yueill (UCLA; Bloomington, Minn.)

FORWARDS

Coy Craft (FC Dallas; Frisco, Texas), Jeremy Ebobisse (Duke; Bethesda, Md.), Victor Mansaray (Seattle Sounders FC; Des Moines, Wash.), Emmanuel Sabbi (Chicago Magic, Libertyville, Ill.), Sebastian Saucedo (Veracruz; Casa Grande, Ariz.)

The U.S. will be led by Akale, a midfielder who is quickly rising through the program at Villarreal and will be a top attacking player for Ramos this cycle. Redding is an anchor in the back after securing a starting job with Orlando City this year, while Sebastian Saucedo, now at Veracruz on loan from Real Salt Lake, flirted with playing for Mexico's U-20s but instead returned to the United States in March.

This tournament will also see the addition of several players promoted from the U.S. U-19 team that recently won the Slovakia Cup under head coach Brad Friedel. FC Dallas midfielder Weston McKinnie was named the Most Valuable Player of that tournament and he will now play with the U-20s. Joining him is the Fulham duo of right back Marlon Fossey and central midfielder Luca de la Torre.

This is an interesting group for Ramos, who will looking to assemble a team for World Cup qualifying which begins February in Costa Rica. Should the U.S. team qualify for the 2017 World Cup next summer in South Korea, there is the potential that top European-based players like Gedion Zealem, Cameron Carter Vickers, Erik Palmer-Brown, Brooks Lennon, Joshua Perez, and even full national team midfielder Christian Pulisic could take part.

This will be the second tournament of 2016 for the U.S. U-20s. The team played in the Dallas Cup in April, where it defeated Monterrey 2-1, drew Hoffenheim 3-3, and lost to Fulham 2-1 while failing to advance out of group play.
