TIMOTHY CHANDLER LOOKS poised for a homecoming as German publications are now reporting that Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt has entered contract negotiations with the American fullback. The 24-year-old is currently with the United States national team as it prepares for the World Cup.

According to the report, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director is in discussions with Chandler and his Nurnberg teammate Makoto Hasebe.

Chandler reportedly has a clause in his contract that sets his transfer price at a low one million Euros if Nurnberg gets relegated—which happened following the club’s 17th place finish.

If Chandler moves to Eintracht Frankfurt it would be a return home for the American who was born in Frankfurt and played for Eintracht’s youth teams from the age of 11 through 19. When he failed to earn a professional contract with the club, Chandler moved to FC Nurnberg, where he made his professional debut in January 2011. Two months after that he made his U.S. national team debut.

Like this proposed move? Glad to see Chandler appears to be staying in the Bundesliga? Share your thoughts below.
