1. Michael Bradley moved past Clint Dempsey for the No. 1 spot in the ASN 100. Do you agree with that change at the top?
I had Bradley over Dempsey, but the difference between the two is razor thin. It can change on a game-by-game basis.
2. Who is the most overrated American player in terms of their current ASN ranking? Why?
I said it last month but I'll repeat that Maurice Edu is lucky to be in the top 50, let alone No. 27. I don't think he'll get five league games this year for Stoke. Since I said that last month, I'll add Tim Ream this month. He's having a very, very rough year for Bolton. When he does get on the field, things have not been going well. He has no confidence.
3. And the most underrated player? How come?
John Anthony Brooks just was named to the 2.Bunesliga team of the week again by Kicker. That's the second time of the year. He is playing much, much better soccer than other central defenders on the list (like Onyewu and Ream). Brooks should be top 40 easily. Honorable mention to Steve Clark for an oustanding season in Norway.
4. Which player outside the top 100 most deserves to make the list?
I think Bobby Wood should be on the next list. His remarkable comeback from injury is just terrific. I think he'll be a regular for 1860 Munich down the stretch.
5. Who should be off it?
How Alfredo Morales is in the top 100, I'll never know. He's nothing more than a reserve player on a 2.Bundesliga team.
