AS WE APPROACH the halfway point of our ASN/TSS MLS preview series, Daryl Grove talks to The Soccer Desk's Brian Barrish about the Philadelphia Union. Barrish explains why the Maurice Edu deal is good business for the Union, and how the club learned its lesson with that Freddy Adu contract.

Barrish has some harsh words for Brad Evans, and makes the case that Sheanon Williams deserves a shot at the U.S. national team right back spot. Similarly, he sees Amobi Okugo as a challenger to Omar Gonzalez, Geoff Cameron, and Matt Besler in the middle of the national team defense. Listen below and let us know if you agree of disagree.

(This interview was recorded before the Union added Austin Berry.)
