  • Alejandro Bedoya is the only player at the United States national team camp without a club. From the New York Times: Last week, a national team staffer went around the team hotel asking players where they needed to fly after Tuesday’s exhibition match against Canada in Houston. “I was the only one who responded, ‘I don’t know,’ ” Bedoya said. He will find one soon, however, as there are offers from teams in Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the good old US of A.

  • Word on the street is that Nick DeLeon is getting a call from Trinidad and Tobago for their friendly against Peru. His father, Leroy DeLeon, is a former star for the country. Playing in the match would not cap-tie him to the island nation. He also received a call last year but did not attend.

  • Hex opponent time. Mexico plays Denmark in a friendly on Wednesday and here's a list of things to watch for. The list includes a possible formation switch and the future of Hector Herrera. Elsewhere in CONCACAF, Costa Rica shocked Honduras to win the Copa Centroamericana.

  • Lionel Messi scored his 200th goal and he's not stopping anytime soon. According to ESPN's Paul Carr: "At 25 years and 217 days, Messi is by far the youngest player to score 200 La Liga goals. He's over four years younger than Telmo Zarra was when he scored his 200th goal for Athletic Bilbao in 1951."
