I SHAVED MY HEAD for the first time when I was 31, and I did it for one reason and one reason alone: It was better than the alternative.

Yes, I inherited the dreaded Godfrey gene. And no, I was never going to be a Combover Guy.

When I first put blade to pate it was traumatic for a day or two, but I quickly learned to accept, and even appreciate, the low-maintenance look. If Bruce Willis and Michael Jordan could prosper despite their follicle issues, I figured, I could get by too.

Mix Diskerud doesn't have these sorts of problems.

In fact, the 22-year-old has the opposite dilemma. His majestic, flowing locks are so awesome that they sometimes steal the spotlight from his play on the field.

And we're here today to make that problem even worse. Click on the ASN Slideshow above for 10 photos that prove once and for all that when it comes to hair, Mix Diskerud is the mane event.
