  • New England Revolution midfielder Jermaine Jones was taken off at half time as a precaution on Saturday after battling all half with Montreal Impact midfielder Calum Mallace. The Revs won 2-1, but Jones left the game wearing a walking boot for a contusion on his left foot. On Thursday the team seemed “optimistic” that Jones will be available for Saturday’s visit to the Columbus Crew.

  • Colorado Rapids captain Drew Moor, who made it back on the latest ASN 100, will be out for the rest of the season after tearing the ACL and lateral meniscus in his left knee against D.C. United on Aug. 18. The veteran defender talked about the injury last month:

  • Paul Arriola picked up a foot injury on Saturday and posted this Tweet the same day: Arriola did not feature in Tijuana’s 1-1 Copa MX draw against Chivas Guadalajara on Tuesday. He was reported to be back in training on Thursday night.

  • Justin Mapp has now missed the Montreal Impact’s last seven league and cup games due to a groin injury. On Thursday the club told ASN that Mapp is currently training lightly and is still a couple of weeks away from returning.

  • D.C. United winger Chris Rolfe was photographed by the Washington Post with his fractured forearm in this contraption:

  • Will Bruin played no part in the Houston Dymamo’s 2-2 draw against the Columbus Crew on Saturday. This was the forward’s second straight game out since picking up a mid-foot sprain. Houston will next play the Philadelphia Union on Saturday.

  • Reading’s Danny Williams told the Reading Post last week that he hopes to be back in team training by the start of November. The midfielder underwent a second operation on his knee in July.

  • Bild posted this photo of Terrence Boyd training individually on Wednesday: The RB Leipzig striker aims to recover from his partial ACL tear and make his competitive debut for the club in early October.

  • D.C. striker Eddie Johnson should be in the side that faces the Chicago Fire on Saturday. Johnson was sidelined for the last three games while recovering from concussion symptoms. “Barring any setbacks he’ll be good to go.” United head coach Ben Olsen confirmed on Thursday.

  • Shane O’Neill played the full 90 minutes of the Colorado Rapids’ Saturday game against the Portland Timbers. O’Neill had missed the previous nine games after spraining the MCL in his right knee. The defender helped the Rapids earn a 2-2 result, snapping the team’s seven-game losing streak. O'Neill also played 90 in Friday's 5-1 loss to Real Salt Lake.
