  • Will Bruin scored twice as the Houston Dynamo went into Chicago and defeated the Fire 2-1 to open MLS Cup playoffs. It was another impressive performance for a Dominic Kinnear-coached club in the playoffs and, it must be said, a rather anemic effort from the home side.

  • Clint Dempsey was all set to send Tottenham to the quarterfinals of the Capital One Cup, but Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn had other ideas.

“Before the game we study penalties and luckily enough before the game I saw his penalty and he went the same way,” the 27-year-old said. “One of the lads has got an iPad so I watched about three or four on there. He had about two or three penalties with his previous club and he went the same way every time. Luckily enough he went that way again.”
