DaMarcus Beasley came off the substitute's bench Sunday and scored two goals for Puebla in its 3-1 Liga MX victory over San Luis at Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramirez. They represented the first two tallies in this years' Mexican Clausura for the 30-year-old Fort Wayne, Ind., native. Entering in the 57th minute, Beasley received a yellow card just a few minutes after coming on. Then, with the score tied late in the match, Beasley got on the end of Isaac Romo's cross and delivered a right-footed shot from six yards out that beat San Luis goalkeeper Oscar Perez and put Puebla ahead to stay.

Beasley put the game away six minutes later off a Felix Borja pass from 15 yards out.

The win keeps Puebla in 6th place with 10 points, and gives a boost to Beasley, who has not played for the U.S. national team since an August 15 friendly against Mexico in Estadio Azteca. Given Landon Donovan's sabbatical, Graham Zusi's uneven play, Stuart Holden's recovery, and Brek Shea's attempt to establish himself with Stoke City, could the door be open for Beasley's return?
