While positional battles rage at U.S. training camp, Clint Dempsey's sizzling form is something everyone is talking; Brad Evans hopes to have no regrets when the right back race comes to an end.

As an in-form Clint Dempsey prepares for his third World Cup, he’s focused as ever. “I’m enjoying my game, but it’s about coming here and putting in the extra work, everybody getting on the same page and trying to figure out what that best 11 is going to be and making sure that when the World Cup starts we hit the ground running and get the right result.”
Brad Evans says everybody is noticing the captain. “[U.S. teammates] have asked – they’ll text [me]. They’ll see the goals and they’ll see the way he’s playing,” Evans said. “It’s just a different level right now. Even in training, it’s a cut above the rest.”

With the right back battle heating up, Evans hopes to not be overlooked. "Just look at the roster, there’s probably at least six guys that can really play that position and can do it well and who have done it before. So it adds good competition,” Evans said. “It adds a real onus on yourself to put in the work every day, take care of the body, make sure you’re doing everything right.
“You don’t want to give yourself a chance of looking back and saying, ‘I should have done this’ or ‘I should have done that.’ Every day is a battle.”
