Germany is sending a depleted roster to the United States. Some names you'll know: Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Per Mertesacker, and Julian Draxler. Bayern and Dortmund have the Champions League final just four days before the first of Germany's two friendlies in the U.S., so all those guys are out.
Landon Donovan speaks: "For the past few seasons, football has just felt like a job and that does not work for me."
Sacha Kljestan scored in Anderlecht's 4-2 win over Lokeren, which clinched a Champions League berth. With a win or draw in the season's final match Sunday, Anderlecht will win the Belgian title and earn a spot in the Champions League group stage.
On the verge of his 100th cap for the national team, DaMarcus Beasley is driving a hard bargain on a potential contract extension with Puebla. “At the start, he was only asking for a 5 or 10 percent increase, and now [his agent] sent an e-mail changing the desired salary,” Puebla president Jesús López Chargoy said. “I asked if it was a joke because the costs are not reasonable." If you remember, Beasley posted some photos of repo men at the club's facilities last year. They may be a little short on cash.
