  • Club Tijuana's magical run continued as the little squad that could defeated Corinthians 1-0 in Copa Libertadores group play. Joe Corona spent the entire match on the left side of midfield, while Greg Garza entered as a late-game sub. The Mexican side has nine points from three games and looks in good position to advance to the Round of 16. The plan for the future:

  • Tigres defeated the Seattle Sounders 1-0 in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals in a match that saw a number of United States national teamers. Jose Torres started for the Mexican club, while Eddie Johnson and Brad Evans were on the field for Seattle.

  • Rachel Buehlers, Shannon Boxx, and Abby Wambach scored as the United States women's national team defeated Iceland 3-0 in its first match of the Algarve Cup. Wambach now needs just four goals to tie Mia Hamm's international record.

  • A feature on Juan Agudelo? Sure. On his national team chances: “It’s definitely in the back of my head every time I play, but I just try to do what I can do with my club and everything with the national team will fall in to place if it’s meant to be. But I feel like whatever I do on the field (with Chivas USA) is going to be what will help me make the team.”
