  • According to a number of reports, Jermaine Jones could soon be a member of the Chicago Fire. “We have interest in the player for sure,” Frank Yallop told reporters Wednesday night. “We’ve spoken to the agent, but at this point there’s nothing to add until someone agrees or it gets concluded. The truth of the matter is we have interest in the player but nothing has been finalized yet. That’s all I can say on it for now.” Alright alright alright.

  • On that note, Sacha Kljestan to the Los Angeles Galaxy? That move, frankly, would only make too much sense for all parties involved.

  • The New York Daily News has an article about Julian Green, which must mean Bayern Munich is playing in the region Thursday night. Confirmed. The German power will take on Chivas Guadalajara at Red Bull Arena as part of the never-ending Guinness International Cup of Champions. “He showed in the World Cup, he takes one chance, and he created a big goal and so that’s why we’re so proud he’s here and can help us win,” Pep Guardiola said of his charge, a statement that will do nothing to quell expectations. Green, for his part, simply wants to “to play soccer and have fun.”

  • How can the U.S. develop better players, you ask? Brooke Tunstall has your answer.

  • The Americans could be playing Colombia in San Antonio on September 9. James Rodriguez and Falcao and a bunch of other dudes, oh my. The Stars and Stripes are playing the Czech Republic in Prague six days earlier, so Jurgen Klinsmann might opt to bring a different lineup to Texas. Lots of frequent flyer miles for the German.
