  • It’s game day in Glasgow, with the U.S. taking on Scotland in the second-to-last contest of 2013. The U.S. is 2-3-2 all-time against Scotland, the last match being a 5-1 drubbing in Jacksonville last May. It’s the third time these countries have squared off in Scotland, the last being back in 2005. The game is on ESPN2 at 3 p.m. ET. This of course gives us an excuse to watch Michael Bradley’s ridiculous volley from last year’s win.
  • How do you see the U.S. lining up today? Use ASN’s world-famous Starting XI tool to pick your lineup.

  • Liviu Bird ponders what some prominent American MLS players might do this offseason. Could guys like Donovan, Dempsey, Besler, Zusi and Gonzalez opt for loan spells in Europe once the transfer window opens on Jan. 1? Hint: Nothing Landon Donovan does would surprise.

  • In the ASN podcast, Jon Arnold, Noah Davis and Ryan O’Hanlon talk Timmy Chandler’s chances of linking up with the national team in 2014. Seth Vertelney at Goal.com wonders the same thing and says it’s premature to think Chandler is done.

  • Steve Cherundolo to Major League Soccer? Okay, okay.

  • If you need to kill some time before the U.S. match, ESPN is streaming all the UEFA World Cup qualifying playoffs this afternoon. If you stick with Portugal vs. Sweden, which kicks off at 2:40 p.m. ET, we won’t tell anybody.
