ASN Morning Read: All Are Good, 11 Are Better

Major League Soccer gives us the best players during the 2014 season, and it's hard to disagree with the choices. Or maybe you can. Let us know in the comments. Or put any other feelings you have there.

  • Your 2014 MLS Best XI: D.C. United's Bill Hamid and Bobby Boswell, LA Galaxy's Omar Gonzalez, Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, Seattle Sounders' Chad Marshall and Obafemi Martins, New York Red Bulls' Thierry Henry and Bradley Wright-Phillips, New England Revolution's Lee Nguyen, and Portland Timbers' Diego Valeri.
  • Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber gave his yearly state of the league speech on Tuesday afternoon. Among the topics, he addressed the changing playoff format (10 teams to 12), the Miami expansion (need a stadium in six months), and the fact that “transparency is a big priority in 2015."

  • That is a fair assessment:

  • MLS, not the best at diversity.

  • Could Tim Howard win Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year? He's up for the honor and leading a poll (that has nothing to do with who actually wins but whatever).

  • D.C. United gets on big step closer to getting a stadium to call its own.

  • Fitness camp? Fitness camp. Tab Ramos will run a 10-player group of U-20s in to the ground between December 3 and 10. Here are your hardly souls:

DEFENDERS (4): Conor Donovan (North Carolina State; Fuquay Varina, N.C.), Matthew Miazga (New York Red Bulls; Clifton, N.J.), Shaquell Moore (Unattached; Powder Springs, Ga.), Tyler Turner (Orlando City SC; West Haven, Conn.)
MIDFIELDERS (3): Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas; Plano, Texas), Marco Delgado (Toronto FC; Glendora, Calif.), Romain Gall (Columbus Crew; Herndon, Va.)
FORWARDS (3): Bradford Jamieson IV (LA Galaxy; Los Angeles, Calif.), Zach Pfeffer (Philadelphia Union; Dresher, Pa.), Tommy Thompson (San Jose Earthquakes; Loomis, Calif.)

Good luck to them. That sounds so so awful.
