  • Brek Shea spoke about his loan move to Birmingham City, where he joins fellow Americans Will Packwood and Jonathan Spector:
  • Born in Florida, 20-year-old Israeli-American attacker Kenny Saief recently made the move to Belgian power Gent. A regular for Israel’s youth teams, Saieg told ASN it would be “a big honor to play for the USA national team… It’s not like playing for a small country. It’s a big country and they play every four years in the World Cup.”

  • In a wide-ranging interview on U.S. Soccer’s website, Jurgen Klinsmann said he plans to call in the “strongest squad possible” for October’s friendlies and discussed his vision for the team’s style: “We want this game to be developed from the back into the midfield and then into the forwards and not to be forced always to play long balls. This is something we are going to encourage more and more going forward.”

  • Following surgery, Danny Williams hopes to get back to training by November. Williams said his knee wasn’t great during sessions with the U.S. ahead of the World Cup, leading to his omission from the team: “I had a long talk with Jurgen Klinsmann and he decided it was better to leave me out.”

  • Caleb Stanko tore his ACL in training and is set for surgery.

  • Don Garber has signed a new five-year contract that will keep him on as MLS commissioner through the end of the 2018 season. With the turmoil surrounding Roger Goodell, is the timing of the ex-NFL executive's new deal just a coincidence?

  • Uh...

  • Finally, this is just a great photo:
