  • Yes yes yes...: ...no: "One problem: The account doesn't actually belong to Gedion Zelalem. On Tuesday, after the tweet was sent, Zelalem posted a message on Instagram saying that he doesn't have a Twitter. SI.com's Grant Wahl also confirmed that the highly-coveted midfielder does not have a Twitter account." (Why does that fake account have more than 12,000 followers? Good job, good effort, world.)

  • CONCACAF handed out a bunch of awards with Abby Wambach winning the 2014 Female Players of the Year trophy and Tim Howard taking home Goalkeeper of the Year, somehow beating out Costa Rican netminder Kelyor Navas who won Male Player of the Year.

  • What if our best athletes played soccer? They do, it's just then they play football: "If you ask NFL scouts and decision makers what’s changing among the league’s younger standouts, it’s a different type of athleticism. That can be attributed, in part, to soccer. Those inside the game say that a young core of stars, all rooted in the beautiful game, have brought a new dimension to the NFL."

  • That's fun:
  • Okay, okay: "The Houston Dynamo have signed Mexico national team forward Erick “Cubo” Torres as a Designated Player. The Dynamo signed Torres after an agreement was reached by Major League Soccer to secure his rights from Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara. Per club and league policy, financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. As part of the transfer agreement, Torres will spend up to six months on loan with Chivas de Guadalajara for the 2015 Liga MX Torneo Clausura, which begins Jan. 9. Torres scored 15 goals in 29 games in 2014, a Chivas USA club record for a single season. The 21-year-old joined Chivas USA on loan from Guadalajara in July 2013 and scored 22 goals in 44 appearances in one and a half seasons, the most goals by a Mexican-born player in MLS history."
