  • The latest ASN 100 has landed and we’ve got a new No. 1 for the third edition in a row. With Tim Howard’s hiatus taking him out of contention, Fabian Johnson jumped from No. 3 to the top spot, barely edging Clint Dempsey. Brad Guzan’s spectacular start to the Premier League season earned him the No. 5 ranking. The biggest movers are Gyasi Zardes (No. 36, up from 95) and Emerson Hyndman (No. 59, up from 100). Check it out.

  • Lee Nguyen took an unconventional path to MLS success, but it seems the 27-year-old is finally living up to the potential he flashed as a teenager. He’s up to No. 28 in the ASN 100.

  • Alfredo Morales earned his second cap in Prague and is eager to become a permanent fixture for the national team. “I just want to go step by step—every day, every week—to play solid performances with my team, to be a key player on my team,” Morales said. “And when I do that, I think I will be a part of this team.”

  • Tab Ramos spoke to Yanks Abroad about the U-20 team's recent trip to Argentina. Utrecht didn't release Rubio Rubin for this camp, but Ramos says it's frustrating and just something that comes with the territory. "I was involved with Thomas Rongen for a few cycles and kind of saw what this was about. There has never been a camp where we've had absolutely everyone we wanted for that particular camp," Ramos said. "So I just try as hard as I can, I try every single camp to get the best available players and I meet with clubs and I tell them how we work and that we take care of the players and how we train."

  • Hey, Sepp Blatter will have an opponent in the 2015 FIFA election! Jerome Champagne – who worked for FIFA from 1999-2010 – confirmed his candidacy and is already proposing the radical idea of actually holding debates, "as is the case for all the democratic elections around the world." That being said, FIFA will surely be prosecuting him for corruption sometime between now and June.

  • Stoke City is launching an initiative to set up academies in the U.S. and Canada. "Our partnership is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise the Club's profile in North America, where football is becoming increasingly popular and where we already have strong links thanks to having the likes of Geoff Cameron and Brek Shea on our books." Maurice Edu too, FWIW.
