This is an experimental side. I really miss Cherundolo and Chandler and just do not understand why Brad Davis and Eddie Johnson are on this roster. I am not sure Donovan can be great over a full 90 (it's been a really long time) but I do think he could be a major impact sub for the final 30 if we are either chasing a goal or need to protect a lead. Gomez provides width on the right (and is the forward tasked with the most defensive responsibilities) Beasley the same on the left as a wingback. Dempsey is given a free role as an attacker with the intent of combining with Altidore and acting as the poacher for service from Gomez and the wing backs. Bradley and Jones are number 8's (Holden to replace Jones if he finds his old form). Cameron acting as a combination of a 6 and a center back. This group has the potential to be both very attacking and stout defensively. Playing three at the back with wing backs allows us to get most of our best players (at least the ones in camp) on the field and addresses our lack of a true number 10.
