It's Moving in the Right Direction
It's Falling Behind Rest of the World
I Absolutely Love It I Can't Be Bothered
Quality of the League really seems to be showing how much it has improved. — Conor
I think the only problem is the refereeing, but otherwise the the style of play has been wonderful! — Navdeep
Life is beautiful with MLS!!!!! — Jonathan M.
Happy to see FC Dallas bouncing back after a rough season last year. — Fernando
Very happy with it,and I'm sure it will even get better as the year goes on. Very happy with how my RB's have been playing lately, hope it continues. LGRB!!! MLS=NEEDED! — Red
What These guys said ^> — Jason
I really don't have any complaints. I love MLS! — Dave
Good games — Tavo
also love the young American talent...O'Neil, Villarreal, Yedlin, Gil, Zardes, McBean, Jack Mac, Agudelo ect...so much this year. — Red
Awesome! — NJfan
Quality is improving, yet still occasionally frustrating. Yet, I can't look away. — Kevin Burbridge
Definitely moving in the right direction with youth development and overall quality. — Brent
I love MLS, as an American it is my number league to watch and follow. The quality on the field is so much better than it was ten years ago and is continue to slowly improve. Teams like SKC, Portland, Seattle, RSL, and LA all play quality soccer to name a few. I think in another 20 years the league will be as in the Americas, right there with Mexico, Argentina, Brazil. And if my hometown of Atlanta ever gets a team I will be the happiest guy in the world! — Danielofthedale
Really like the direction of MLS — Charlie
MLS gets better everyday — Beto
Can't say I 'love it' nationally...but the more USMNT players the MLS has the more I pay attention. — PanchoMiguelMoralesdeConejo
Just keeps getting better and better. — Christopher
I have followed MLS since 1999, and I have to say this league has c'mon leaps and bounds the last 5 years. Now that My Sounders are in the league I cannot stop watching not only the Sounders but other teams as well. I believe this will be a major destination league in 10 years. Viva MLS! Viva USA! — 2tone
Slowly but surely seeing progress — Miles
Long way to go...but the growth has been phenomenal. If you are ignoring MLS then you're missing great soccer in your backyard (unless you live anywhere in the Southeast). — Aaron
I love the parity of play in this league, and I never want that to change. Looking for DC and NE to complete the table of soccer-specific stadia, and then we'll be cooking. — Hayes
Never thought I'd see this kind of growth here. — Mabindurham
Yep, all good. — TD
Every game is competitive, we have soccer-specific stadiums and a national cable TV deal makes it infinitely more accessible than the 90's. — Dave C
Slow and steady improvement. — Matt
Is it the most compelling on field product in the world game? No. But is MLS steadily improving? Clearly the answer is yes. I don't watch out of 'obligation,' I watch because it's OUR league. You can still have your teams in Europe, but these are the teams in your back yard. Can you imagine Watford's (or any other non-BPL team's) fans saying they won't come out to games or watch them on TV because Watford aren't as good as Man U or Real Madrid? I'm shocked by the level of snobbery in US soccer fans when it comes to MLS. — Roberto Ainslie
Never paid closer attention — Wes
You can see the league being taken seriously. It's great. — Matt
Started watching nationally-broadcast games. Surprised at the entertainment value of the narratives MLS has on offer. — @GCaseyFC
yep — me
Yep — Lou1970
Getting better every year in small increments but still behind others. Relegation should be delayed until the sport is more popular nationally. Unfortunately we need to maintain presence in the major markets regardless of their team's performance. — Stanley Charles McKinley
The parity is extremely nice. — Sean
SKC — Patrick
I watch now and then. There needs to be a 2nd division and relegation... they need to stop playing during FIFA international breaks... and stop with the playoffs. except maybe for the last relegation spot. — Patrick D
It's been pretty good so far — JR
More entertainment than quality. — Jacob
Mls is actually developing youth talent and league is getting more recognition especially in South America and national team could well be a top 10 team in a few years if league keeps growing at a high rate — Roosterboy
Dare I ponder this?...Is the season too long? Are we burning guys out? — Nolan
Finding myself following MLS more closely each season — Alex
Enjoying the season — Red bull fan
Getting better but still a long way to go. Hard to convince a casual fan to be bothered with a lot of the very anonymous teams in this league. — Brian
I enjoy watching my local team, and enjoy that the league is making progress internationally, but I'd still rather watch international soccer. — Matt Rado
MLS is improving every year — Matt
Slow but steady progress. As a relatively new soccer fan, I really enjoy MLS. — Eric
It's getting better and more interesting. We are ascending, while others around the world are declining or plateauing. — Timo
The league has made considerable progress and the quality has visibly improved over the past 10 years, but it's not going to become one of the best leagues in the world (its stated goal) without a substantial increase in spending on players. A 5% annual increase in the cap is not going to take this league to the next level. — Dan
Although attendance is down I'm really enjoying it so far! — SurfGuyI
This season has been great. With the new team coming in and more cities clamoring for teams, MLS has a bright future. The young players have been an absolute joy to watch. MLS isn't just old stars and never-will-bes. There is some serious talent coming up the ranks. — caleb
Still got a ways to go but it's getting there. Needs better TV coverage!!!!!! — Bill
sup — sup
EHHH... — Clifford McGoffin
Enjoy it and look forward to the future... — Will
Love the league! The next steps need to be focused not on more cap room for big name established players but on keeping young talent to add depth and overall quality to the league. — Kyle S
We need another beckham. To get more publicity — Otto
Still think there's not enough quality across the league, and I blame the salary cap for that. But when it's good—say, the LA Galaxy v. Sporting Kansas City match—it's very good. Scrap the cap and this league has a chance to really take off. Hopefully the training wheels will come off soon.... — JHG
getting there — w
At the end of the day the quality of play on the field will be the most important thing. Certainly improved in the past five years or so. Would like to see a 4th DP spot for each team to help continue boosting the quality of play. — creweXI
Headed in the right direction. Im thrilled that we have a domestic league that I can enjoy. Wish more games were shown. — Nathan
Quality getting better, but still painfully behind everyone else — Michael
Love the recent glut of Homegrown signings around the league. Bodes well for the future. Nothing beats local soccer. — Charlie
Been following the league since DC United's first home game. I can't believe DC are still playing at RFK. Once all teams have their own venues and can spend a little more on players, MLS will have moved beyond "right direction" to "absolutely love it" — Ferris
Keep the salary cap to keep a level playing field. I wouldn't mind seeing the playoffs go away or limit the teams in the playoffs (how can half the league make the playoffs?), make the regular season mean something more. — Josh
Game quality is ticking up slowly, but work needs to be done in player development and marketing. — Kevin
I love the on-field product, but until these single-entity leagues go away and US Soccer steps into an English FA type role and brings promotion/relegation, its just never going to feel completely legitimate... — Rob McNicholas
I love it, but it kinda getting better. — Thomas
not into the relationships with companies like herbalife and amway and the ridiculousness of the NYCFC thing. But besides that the quality of the game has gotten slightly better. but most of all the fans are coming into their own. I just with the MLSFO would stop sucking up to some of these ridiculously wealthy foreign investors. — scott
Love IT!!! Agreed>>>> — Shampoosta
Stop comparing it to other leagues and just enjoy it for what it is. — Eduardo
Is this the "I don't care yet" area? We are reminded how many barely-better-than-mediocre players America produces by how any half-decent player is hailed as a "star". — KXRTI
Seems like two steps forward, one step back. — Route 1 Soccer
I'd like to hear a little more info directly from the league office about the long terms plans for the league, but overall they offer a good product at a fair price in most of their major markets. Kudos to the supporter groups who work so hard every week! — Jonny Hoops
I do love it, but I am bothered by a lack of world class leadership at the league level, and by the often atrocious officiating. I also think we must take steps to make the league less physical and more creative. Hard physical play is currently compensating for weak technical skills and it's ugly. — Peter
Can't watch because my boys in dc suck this year. — Hater
The quality of play sucks (there's one team - Portland - that's even remotely entertaining to watch). Too many coaches get recycled around the league, so the same boring style of play gets shifted around from city to city. Pro/Rel is most definitely needed, and the stupid playoff system and divisions need to go. It's insulting to us fans to have Garber and his lot trying to spoon-feed us the same weak garbage, creating artificial "rivalries" and otherwise trying to "Americanize" the sport. — Kevin
The guy next to me needs to chill. — Dave
truth ----> — sr
Love it but my reservation is that we see teams with nary an American in the starting XI - that is not the "right direction". — Excellency
Meh, meh. Meh. — Meh
Get rid of the current salary restrictions. Garber, it will never be a top league with this structure. — Cody
